Our Time In The Tank: A Look Back At Q1 Camp

It's that time of the year again when we swap our daily grind for something with a bit more of a bite. Camp is a chance for the Wonder Buds to get together each quarter to review financials and push new initiatives forward. It may sound boring, but we always make it fun with killer costumes, music, and office decor. This quarter, Camp made a splash with its latest theme: Shark Tank.

The Dress Code: Shark Or Shark Bait?

As you stepped into the office, it was clear that some had taken "dress to impress" to a whole new level. Half of the Buds channeled their inner Mr. Wonderful, donning power suits sharp enough to cut through the toughest of business deals. The other half? They were decked out as the crème de la crème of Shark Tank victors, with outfits that screamed "I'm the next big thing!"

It was a full-on showdown: the battle of the corporate sharks against the fresh-faced entrepreneurs. And let's be honest, at Wonderist, it's not every day you get to see your department head in a 3-piece suit or inflatable Shark costume - our office attire usually lands somewhere in between.

Time For The Pitch

After grabbing some coffee and settling into our seats, each department head took the stage to pitch their next big quarterly initiative, Shark Tank-style.

While each presentation was a little different, a few key themes made them stand out to our panel of 45+ sharks:

  • Storytelling and Emotional Connection: The department heads didn't just spit out stats. They took us on a journey, showing us how far we’ve come and how far we’ll continue to go together.
  • Compelling Data: Imagine cutting development time in half or slashing costs without compromising quality. Department heads showed us that these ideas were achievable, and they brought the data to prove it.
  • Visual and Interactive Elements: Interactive demos and engaging infographics kept us hooked and made each pitch memorable.

Getting Buy-In From The Sharks

The department heads voiced their visions for 2024 with clarity and confidence before asking, “Well, Sharks, what do you think?”

Here’s where it got interesting. Instead of applause, the Wonderbuds each raised a paddle high, with symbols and signs that showed their total investment. And as you might expect, all the Wonderist Sharks decided to invest in the key initiatives presented.

So… Why Did We Do This?

Why did we turn our quarterly review into an episode of Shark Tank? It's simple, really. Our team is on a mission to provide the ‘Best Dental Marketing, With A Smile’. Making our motto a reality isn’t done by luck. It’s a result of everyone being on the same page about our goals and being 100% invested in making them happen.

By clearly outlining our ambitions, we not only understand what we're striving toward, but we also get revved up to sink our teeth into our most impactful projects.

Tips From The Tank

Have you ever found it tough to show just how impactful treatment could be to your patients? We get it, “selling dentistry” is never fun. But it doesn’t have to be a drag. The key to getting patients on board lies in the power of the pitch. Whether you’re showing off Digital Smile Design mockups or sharing before and afters, these mini-pitch moments can get patients excited about investing in their smiles - hook, line, and sinker.
